Greetings Legion Family,
March is Women History Month!
1. Membership night every Thursday! Card games, fellowship and gaming machines are all available for your enjoyment, 6:30-10:00 pm.
2. Post sponsored dance every Friday night from 9-1 am featuring DJ “BIGG” Hood. Menu: fish, shrimp, wings, pork chops, fries and more.

3. Our next Post Executive Board meeting is scheduled for 28 Mar 26 at 10:00 am.
4. If you a high school senior, please pass on the High School Student Scholarship (attached) sponsored by the Post. We would love to bless a student and satisfy a need.
5. Re-sending Post By-Laws that the adjutant sent over a month ago. This is your opportunity to make suggestions/changes to the way the Post is governed. The original suspense was 28 Jan, new suspense “ASAP”.
6. Attached is a list of “membership ideas” that were submitted! Please take some time to look them over. If you see something that you would like to support, please send re-plies to the Membership Chair, 1st Vice Cmdr. Patricia Aughtry at post67membership@gmail.com or (757) 775-5907. Also, please feel free to submit more suggestions/ideas tailored to what you would for the Post.
7. Nominations for officer positions are here. Job description/responsibilities for ALL positions are spelled out in the current By-Laws. Please be mindful of requirements and responsibilities when nominating yourself or someone else. All officer positions are open as well as non-officer positions. If you are ready to nominate yourself or someone else, please send nomination to the Steering Committee Chair, Legionnaire Earl Pierce. He can be reached at epierce671@verizon.net
8. Community Outreach information: The 2nd Annual Medical and Mental Health Wellness Fair sponsored by Hampton Alumnae Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will be May 16, 2026 from 9 am to 5 pm. Please see the link below for more detailed information to reserve a spot.
9. Don’t forget, preparations for our “Relay for Life” team is happening now. Relay For Life of Peninsula Presented by Newport News Shipbuilding and BayPort Credit Union Saturday, May 2, 2026. Woman History Facts –
Harriet Tubman - Born into slavery, she became a conductor on the Underground Railroad during the Civil War, leading hundreds of enslaved people to freedom. What many don't know is that she also served as a nurse, recruiter, and spy for the Union Army. Her role was to covert at the time that only President Lincoln knew about it!
Lt. Col. Nicole Malachowski - was the first female pilot to fly with the USAF Thunderbirds, the Air Force’s premier flight demonstration team. She also served as an advisor to the Secretary of Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. During her last official assignment, she served as the Executive Director of the White House’s national ‘Joining Forces’ program. In this capacity, she directly advised former First Lady of the United States, Mrs. Michelle Obama, and Dr. Jill Biden on all topics relating to service members, veterans, and military families.
